Summer tourists

The new Free People video makes me want to cram out all that summer locked up in the back of my closet :) And I realized that I seriously need maxi skirts/dresses everything! <3

Cotelac Spring Summer lookbook (5) aquarelle

Teeehee-I was always scared to try this with the other pen drawings but I actually really like the result :D
All I did was add color with my aquarelle colors <3
The pic is still a little wet but I took it in the studio and I finished it just when I had to go so I couldn't wait for it to dry :)

Cotelac Spring Summer (4)

Ok see-I have a problem with these pen drawings...they don't mean anything. Anyone could do them. Just copy a photograph and then tadaa there you go...
You kind of get tired of them pretty quickly...
I'll have to keep trying out new stuff...
Meanwhile here is another pic from the cotelac lookbook!

cotelac spring summer 2012

Hey there :D
I was looking through my stack of magazines and I stumbled on the "Cotelac Spring/Summer 2012" booklet I got it France-Cotelac is a French brand and their campaign/lookbook from that year is seriously cool. So I illustrated one of the pics (For now-maybe more will come :P)
Lots of easterly (or if you don't celebrate that just "universal") love!

Skull vest, ripped tights and awefully cute pigtails!

Hello! I'm running a little late today-a little misplanning I'm afraid so this will have to be rather short. I'm so sorry I promised something special today but it is going to be just another punk-style outfit...I just didn't have time today so I'll postpone the special post for tomorow.
As a you can see this outfit is a little more feminine with lots of pink and green accents (<3) I think I'm kind of getting the hang of this kind of styling-the main idea is simple-rather plain cothes spiced up with lots of accessoires. Let me show you on this example...

100th Post Anniversary-a sandal

Hello everyone!
First of all-I'd like to thank all of you dear readers who keep faith in me and vvisit my blog every day-I can't explain how much it means to me when people say that my work has inspired them, helped them or they just enjoyed looking through my sketches. It is this blog's anniversary today-together we have managed 100 posts some better some worst and before this becomes horribly cheesy post let's get on with it!
I didn'T actually plan to write this post so late but well I guess you can say I was quite busy today :D I told you yesterday that this weekend I would be visting this workshop for fashion and costume design at our local Volkshofschule-well the first day was awesome already! We started off studying on how to draw the human body and how to change the proportions to create a character (i.e. long and prominent or fat and chubby). Then we chose one of 5 plays which we could use as a theme-mine was Alice in Wonderland (<3) and made a mood board. This was very interesting because well, apart from being my first mood board, it was a new way for me to look at design and I definitely like it. Maybe I will find a way to create more of them and then put them on here too because I think they are just a wonderful way of capturing the feeling, the atmosphere of what you want to create and they are much more effective than texts like this XD
Tomorow we will start actually designing some clothes and when I get home you bet I'll post some here.

Sunday's DIY fancy Tank Top

Hi! :D Sooooo-I have decided that I will introduce something new today-again! So from now on-Sunday is DIY day! From now on every Sunday I will post a DIY! I'm sorry today's DIY has nothing to do with our motto for this week-Think Pink, but I guess it's the last day of that anyway.

Strapless top with necklace

Hi there! So I long ago noticed that I asolutely adore that when you have very free shoulders in summer e.g. because you're wearing a strapless top or a a top with very thin straps, short simple necklaces with a pendant make the look complete. To top it wooden necklaces in an ethno kind of style are the best!
This is a little bit my go of this trend, a sleeveless simple pink shirt which kind of fans out like a dress at the bottom but ends at the waist and some normal black trousers under it.

PS: you can barely see that this is me searching for interesting poses again....XD

Magazine Strip Skirt

Hello! I hope your all doing good because it is time for the first "Think Pink" design.
You might have noticed yesterday-I suddenly rediscovered my love for collages so I just carried on today.
To put it short-it is a skirt! Made up of lots of thin strips of magazine pages.
I would love to actually try this out in 3D but I guess you would figure out a way to make them stiffen-but I'm sure one could try...maybe I will sometime...

Ballpointpen Series 4 - happy girl with shades

Hello there! So here we go-part 4 of the pen (:D) series today! Again I had a photo which I found on tumbl the other day as a guideline for this design.
The fashion here is relatively simply-it is a over-lengthed grey knitted top with a pair of blue jeans. What I loved about her outfit is how she styled it. She's wearing a white hat, lots of awesome bracelets, a tourquoise bag but choose not to wear any necklace and put sunglasses there instead.
Tomorow comes the last part of my series-and then I have something very special for you already planned out! I can't wait to share it with you! :D

Ballpoint Pen Series 3 - Camera Girl with leather bag

Hi! What I have for you today is the third part of my ballpoint pen (dude-it is getting really tiring to actually write "ballpoint pen" the whole time...how about we simply say pen from now on?) so the third part of my pen series (aaah much better :D)-
What you see here is my interpretation of a photo I found on the sartorialist the other day. Again I was searching for an interesting pose when I came across this picture of a girl taking a photograph with her camera. On the picture she was dressed completly in denim apart from her (awesooome!) leather bag she had hanging over her shoulder.
I hope you like it!

Soft Silky Skirt

Hello! :D You might have noticed but at the moment I'm experimenting with watercolors (e.g. watercolor princess dress or rose) so here's another outfit which I colored with watercolors.
The main piece in this outfit is definetely in the tulip skirt. It has a thin waistband with a small buckle and then goes down until about the knee. The effect that it looks like a tulip is because the lining on the inside is shorter than the outer fabric which causes the outer fabric to curve to the inside at the bottom.
Along wiht the orange shirt there's a simple light blue top and of course the essential brown laced leather boots.
xoxo Alex
PS: In case you're wondering-I cut off the head because again the black pen smudged when I went over it with water-any ideas on how I could solve that problem? Or pens which might not smudge?

Watercolor princess dress

Hi! I decided to use a new technique today! It was a little bit complicated because the black pen I had used kept smudging when I put watercolor on it so I had to try several times...
I got the idea for this design the way I get lots of ideas. Sometimes a picture simply appears in my head and I know what my next design has to be like. Sometimes it is not even the picture I get, just the adjectives describing it. Here I only saw the detail (dude-this is kind of getting creepy) of the chin, the neck and the beginning of the dress. The outline was clear and scetchy but the colors blurred over the sides. Sometimes I'm able to then convert these pictures into a drawing or a sketch but sometimes this doesn't work. With this one  I think the dress worked reasonably well but I messed up exactly the detail I had pictured in my head...very logical..
xoxo Alex
PS:You're definetely going to see more watercolors showing up here-they are simply amazing to do quick coloring and paired with felt-tips and crayons they are unbeatable :D

Necklace with pendant

Hi there! I got inspired to this outfit at a concert I was at recently (a local band-nothing special :D). I loved the way a girl standing near me had styled her necklace so I decided to pick that up in one of my outfit.
The simple tanktop was spiced up with the necklace, which has a large round pendant on it. Along with that is a purple skit with a broad black waistband.-And of course the brown, laced leather boots to finish it off.

Strapless dress with jeans jacket

Hey guys! I'm going to a ball soon so the next few days will be a little about dresses! This first one is still quite casual.
It is strapless, has a few buttons coming down the front and then fans out into a skirt. Colorwise it reminds me very much of candy again, which goes well with the dark blue of the jeans jacket.
Combined with some heels and a fancy hairstyle (but without the jeans jacket) it would be perfect for a summer party.
xoxo Alex
