Middle aged man with Yorkie

Hey everyone!
I'm running a little late today so just two quick watercolor sketches of a man I meant on the street today ;) He was "middle aged" and walking (I'm guessing his wife's Yorkie). He seemed a little out of place all proper with the black blazer jacket and perfect hair with the Yorkie who had on a cute little red knitted jumper...:D

"Downton Abbey" inspired outfit

Hey everyone!
Hope you'Re all doing good! :D
The next few days are going to be really busy for me cuz I have a friend over from Croatia(yaaaaaay!) and we are going to do some exploring - I apologize in advance if the posts here are going to be a little shorter than usual!
A friend recommended a series to me recently and I started watching the first few episodes-"Downton Abbey" They have beautiful costumes there and well-the next few designs were inspired by it!
I don't really like the way the forehead turned out so I'm definively going to start using colored pencils for the skin color soon :D

Hello there!
I was looking through some pics today and I saw lots of animal head fashion drawings so I decided to draw my own :D What do you think?
PS: Gant catalogues are very helpful if you're looking for a "beary" outfit :D <3

Another HAt-a floppy one this time...

Hey everyone!
I do seem to be a little hat addicted lately-this is my third one I post here in a row!
I created this picture at another fashion and costume design workshop which I'm doing this weekend (and I'm so glad I got to go because I was sick all week and I didn't know whether I would make it!) and my theme this time is Romeo and Juliet..
When I was searching for pictures for my mood board I stumbled upon a lady in this pose with this kind of awesome hat but sadly she didn't fit into my colorscheme at all so I simply "redid" her in red and beige :D
For materials I used a lot! :D Amongst others pastels, guache colors, tusche pens and watersoluble colored pencils..

Boyish hat with firery hair

Hey!
I promised yesterday I would post another hat on here which is a little more boyish than aristocratic one we had yesterday and well-who would have guessed-why going to sleep I had the perfect idea...I must say it didn't turn out as well as I hoped but I still thought I'd share it with you!

Don't you also love the effect my new (Well relatively new...) charcoal pencil has in the shirt?

The amazing, The wonderful, The ingenius-tube scarf! :D

It is warm, it is big, it is cozy and it is very very stylisch-the tube scarf. A real magic piece which is perfect for any windy day, colder evening or just a fashionable stroll through the streets. As you can proooobably imagine due to my ethusiastic use of adjectives-it is-along with the plaid scarf-one of my absolute favorite pieces which is definetely a must in fall and winter.
This is example you can see right here is very big and wollen, in a kind of (seriously I couldn't think of a better example...) seaweed color.

The art of layering-a long blouse under a sweater

Hello! :D So as you probably all know the real fun of the colder seasons is the layering. You can wear lots of awesome clothes at once! :D However there are a few tips and tricks you might want to watch out for, if you're trying this kind of outfit.

100th Post Anniversary-a sandal

Hello everyone!
First of all-I'd like to thank all of you dear readers who keep faith in me and vvisit my blog every day-I can't explain how much it means to me when people say that my work has inspired them, helped them or they just enjoyed looking through my sketches. It is this blog's anniversary today-together we have managed 100 posts some better some worst and before this becomes horribly cheesy post let's get on with it!
I didn'T actually plan to write this post so late but well I guess you can say I was quite busy today :D I told you yesterday that this weekend I would be visting this workshop for fashion and costume design at our local Volkshofschule-well the first day was awesome already! We started off studying on how to draw the human body and how to change the proportions to create a character (i.e. long and prominent or fat and chubby). Then we chose one of 5 plays which we could use as a theme-mine was Alice in Wonderland (<3) and made a mood board. This was very interesting because well, apart from being my first mood board, it was a new way for me to look at design and I definitely like it. Maybe I will find a way to create more of them and then put them on here too because I think they are just a wonderful way of capturing the feeling, the atmosphere of what you want to create and they are much more effective than texts like this XD
Tomorow we will start actually designing some clothes and when I get home you bet I'll post some here.

Olive Green Parka with Fur Hood

Hello! :D So fiiiirst I have to tell you about my awesome shopping trip today! My amazing friend and I met and we checked out the most awesome stores here in Essen-the fabric store, secondhand store and a vintage store. And we were successful! :D I would post pictures but I would need someone to take the photographs (and definitively an intesive class on modelling) so descriptions will have to suffice!  In the bag was amongst others an oversized camouflaged buttoned shirt/jacket, a plaid blazer (I dare to say a must have this season-we'll see :D), an amazing oversized blue, red, yellow and white sweater (it  kind of has a pattern...-which is hard to describe and stars on it :D) and green fabric to make the parka bellow! :D
I believe you can say that I love shopping (with the right people and in the right places) so let me know if you want me to post more descriptions of things I bargain :D

Two lovers: the plain black trench and the feminine green blazer coat

Hello :D Yes it is a rather long post title today but I mean-how else are we going to describe these to cuties. He, the again a womanizer-prominent face, masculine beard and a modern hairstyle and her, the cute, nice and more introverted but very affectionate young girl. Isn't that a perfect pair?

Futuristic Peplum Shirt

Hi everyone! I'm really getting into the peplum thing-at first I thought they were awful-but now I actually kind of like them!
This shirt has a high black collar, then goes down until the waist where the peplum unfolds itself. What makes this looks so futuristic is the fabric. It is very stiff which is why there are only a few prominent folds and the peplum "stands".
To go with it I added just a simple pair of black leggings and if you have the guts you can add some (very) high heeled red shoes.

Hey! Look what I have for you today! The second part of my Ballpoint Pen Series!
This design evolved in my head when I was lying in bed when I was trying to go to sleep and I had to draw it immeadiately so I wouldn't forget it (does that happen to anyone else too? :D)
It is a simple and long Parka with is shorter at the back than at the front. It has a large hood and (Very important!) it is fitted around the waist.
To go with the look there are slim-fit trousers and an awesome pair of wedges (which look a little like iceskating-shoes XD)!
xoxo Alex
PS: I don't know why but I cannot add a title today...sorry for that!

Soft Silky Skirt

Hello! :D You might have noticed but at the moment I'm experimenting with watercolors (e.g. watercolor princess dress or rose) so here's another outfit which I colored with watercolors.
The main piece in this outfit is definetely in the tulip skirt. It has a thin waistband with a small buckle and then goes down until about the knee. The effect that it looks like a tulip is because the lining on the inside is shorter than the outer fabric which causes the outer fabric to curve to the inside at the bottom.
Along wiht the orange shirt there's a simple light blue top and of course the essential brown laced leather boots.
xoxo Alex
PS: In case you're wondering-I cut off the head because again the black pen smudged when I went over it with water-any ideas on how I could solve that problem? Or pens which might not smudge?

Watercolor princess dress

Hi! I decided to use a new technique today! It was a little bit complicated because the black pen I had used kept smudging when I put watercolor on it so I had to try several times...
I got the idea for this design the way I get lots of ideas. Sometimes a picture simply appears in my head and I know what my next design has to be like. Sometimes it is not even the picture I get, just the adjectives describing it. Here I only saw the detail (dude-this is kind of getting creepy) of the chin, the neck and the beginning of the dress. The outline was clear and scetchy but the colors blurred over the sides. Sometimes I'm able to then convert these pictures into a drawing or a sketch but sometimes this doesn't work. With this one  I think the dress worked reasonably well but I messed up exactly the detail I had pictured in my head...very logical..
xoxo Alex
PS:You're definetely going to see more watercolors showing up here-they are simply amazing to do quick coloring and paired with felt-tips and crayons they are unbeatable :D

Ballroom dress

Hey! Well, here come's the first of the promised ballroom dresses.
It is a purple neckholder, with the bust being held together with a purple stone and it goes down right tol the floor.
Combined with the clutch and a simple hair updo it is the perfect outfit for a ball.

Strapless dress with jeans jacket

Hey guys! I'm going to a ball soon so the next few days will be a little about dresses! This first one is still quite casual.
It is strapless, has a few buttons coming down the front and then fans out into a skirt. Colorwise it reminds me very much of candy again, which goes well with the dark blue of the jeans jacket.
Combined with some heels and a fancy hairstyle (but without the jeans jacket) it would be perfect for a summer party.

Fake fur coat

Hi! As with lots of designs I got inspired to this one by a movie (lets see if you can guess!). The wearer is a young woman who is unhappy because she has lost the passion she had, when she was doing what she loved.
The coat has a broad fake fur collar, is gathered on the waistline and goes out again until just over the knees. Due to the fur at the wrist and the bottom, it gives the wearer a glamorous, diva-like air-(which I would personally love to try to destroy with a rocker-style outfit to go with it-that's an idea for another post...:D)
Have fun trying to guess the movie and have a nice day XD

Burgundy Blouse with Jeans Vest

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that today's post is so late but I just returned from a trip and haven't had much time in front of the computer yet. I was inspired to today's design while watching "Pretty little liars". I must admit I just watched because I had only ever heard of it and I wanted to know whether it was worth watching.
The base is a burgundy colored blouse and three-quater length black trousers. Over it she is wearing a simply blue jeans vest, a black bow-tie (which I loooove-you'll see some more of them the next few days) and some strapped high-heels.
xoxo Alex
