Futuristic Peplum Shirt

Hi everyone! I'm really getting into the peplum thing-at first I thought they were awful-but now I actually kind of like them!
This shirt has a high black collar, then goes down until the waist where the peplum unfolds itself. What makes this looks so futuristic is the fabric. It is very stiff which is why there are only a few prominent folds and the peplum "stands".
To go with it I added just a simple pair of black leggings and if you have the guts you can add some (very) high heeled red shoes.

Vintage shirt outfit

Hi everyone! Did I ever mention-my favorite style of fashion is vintage :D and yes I know it is kind of daring to call this outfit vintage but it is only one of many which will appear on here :D
It is a comfy and baggy tanktop with a large floral...thing.... (basically only a splotch of color) at the front, a pair of jeans, a simple leather bag and not to forget-the laced leather boots :D
xoxo Alex :D
PS: her face is black not because she is part of some weird spiritual group but because I messed up the lips and she looked more like a facebook meme than a person ;)

Jeans Vest Outfit

Hello there! :D A rather late post today but I hope you enjoy it anyway ;)
If you were wondering how to pull off the jeans vest from yesterday-here's an idea.
A simple pair of trousers (if you choose jeans be careful that the two different jeans colors match!-I would prefer colorful trousers for this combination) with a loose tanktop or shirt. here I also added a little triangular scarf, a cute hat <3 and a pair of wedges.

DIY-embelished Jeans Vest

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited today!! I can finally present to you my first DIY-Project! So lets begin :D
It was a while back that my good friend persuaded me that everyone must have a jeans vest-we were out shopping and she was looking for one for herself and on that occasion-I found the perfect one for me. I took it home and looked at it and thought I had to spice it up somehow. This is the result.
Materials: Simple jeans vest (you can cut off the sleeves of your jeans shirt, buy a new jeans jacket or like me find one in a local second hand store for 15 euros), (optional) fabric die or bleach and of course the things you want to embelish it with-this could be literally ANYTHING-buttons, pins, pieces of fabric, embroidery (then you need embroidery thread :D), rhine stones, sequins, fabric pens just to name a few!
Step 1: Especially if you got a second hand vest-wash it first. There is nothing more frustating than spending hours sewing and embelishing and then noticing that there is a stain somewhere which you don't want to have because washing the vest afterwards is not the easiest of things :D
Step 2: If you are using fabric die or bleach do it now. I decided not to because I was actually quite happy with the color but I think it would look awesome if you did!
Step 3: Now start embelishing. You can basically do anything you want. What I did was put lots of pins which I in various corners of my art boxes -you can see lots of Linkin Park ones, Unicef and one from this project called "Sternsinger" on the collar of the jacket (you can also put rhinestones or buttons or sequins or whatever you like)
and I wrote "Inspire" in lots of different letters on the back. The letters I layed out individually on a table before I actually sewed them on. This way I could regulate the size of the letters so they all fit on the back of the jacket-you don't want to suddenly run out of space!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! I can't wait to see your results so please feel free to share them in the comments section! And if you want more tutorials like this-I have lots more ideas in store-and if you have any-let me know!! :D

oh and btw-we have 70th post anniversary! There are exactly 70 post on this blog :D

Ballpoint Pen Series 5 - Alice in Wonderland Top-hat

Hi guys! I apologize for this rather late and rather short post but my head is clouded with physics formulas and hurt cats.
As you see it is a top hat inspired by the one from Alice in Wonderland-bizarre movie by the way, don't you think?-the one that the hatmaker always has. I definetely adore that one so I decided to make my own version!
With this the Ballpoint Pen Series comes to an end-I hope you enjoyed it..and tomorow I have something VERY special for you! :D I can'T wait!!

Ballpointpen Series 4 - happy girl with shades

Hello there! So here we go-part 4 of the pen (:D) series today! Again I had a photo which I found on tumbl the other day as a guideline for this design.
The fashion here is relatively simply-it is a over-lengthed grey knitted top with a pair of blue jeans. What I loved about her outfit is how she styled it. She's wearing a white hat, lots of awesome bracelets, a tourquoise bag but choose not to wear any necklace and put sunglasses there instead.
Tomorow comes the last part of my series-and then I have something very special for you already planned out! I can't wait to share it with you! :D

Ballpoint Pen Series 3 - Camera Girl with leather bag

Hi! What I have for you today is the third part of my ballpoint pen (dude-it is getting really tiring to actually write "ballpoint pen" the whole time...how about we simply say pen from now on?) so the third part of my pen series (aaah much better :D)-
What you see here is my interpretation of a photo I found on the sartorialist the other day. Again I was searching for an interesting pose when I came across this picture of a girl taking a photograph with her camera. On the picture she was dressed completly in denim apart from her (awesooome!) leather bag she had hanging over her shoulder.
I hope you like it!

Hey! Look what I have for you today! The second part of my Ballpoint Pen Series!
This design evolved in my head when I was lying in bed when I was trying to go to sleep and I had to draw it immeadiately so I wouldn't forget it (does that happen to anyone else too? :D)
It is a simple and long Parka with is shorter at the back than at the front. It has a large hood and (Very important!) it is fitted around the waist.
To go with the look there are slim-fit trousers and an awesome pair of wedges (which look a little like iceskating-shoes XD)!
xoxo Alex
PS: I don't know why but I cannot add a title today...sorry for that!

Ballpoint Pen Series 1-Jeans with Floral Sweater

Hello! :D I'm starting a series today!!! From now until Thursday there will be a series of drawings of people I copied off street-style photos on the web and for which I only used a ballpoint pen.
So here is the first piece. I copied it from a photo I found on the locals. I mainly chose it because I like her pose (something I'm working on too at the moment-trying out different poses so my figurines don't always simply stand there) and there are interesting folds on the sweater.
I hope you like it!

Soft Silky Skirt

Hello! :D You might have noticed but at the moment I'm experimenting with watercolors (e.g. watercolor princess dress or rose) so here's another outfit which I colored with watercolors.
The main piece in this outfit is definetely in the tulip skirt. It has a thin waistband with a small buckle and then goes down until about the knee. The effect that it looks like a tulip is because the lining on the inside is shorter than the outer fabric which causes the outer fabric to curve to the inside at the bottom.
Along wiht the orange shirt there's a simple light blue top and of course the essential brown laced leather boots.
xoxo Alex
PS: In case you're wondering-I cut off the head because again the black pen smudged when I went over it with water-any ideas on how I could solve that problem? Or pens which might not smudge?

Watercolor princess dress

Hi! I decided to use a new technique today! It was a little bit complicated because the black pen I had used kept smudging when I put watercolor on it so I had to try several times...
I got the idea for this design the way I get lots of ideas. Sometimes a picture simply appears in my head and I know what my next design has to be like. Sometimes it is not even the picture I get, just the adjectives describing it. Here I only saw the detail (dude-this is kind of getting creepy) of the chin, the neck and the beginning of the dress. The outline was clear and scetchy but the colors blurred over the sides. Sometimes I'm able to then convert these pictures into a drawing or a sketch but sometimes this doesn't work. With this one  I think the dress worked reasonably well but I messed up exactly the detail I had pictured in my head...very logical..
xoxo Alex
PS:You're definetely going to see more watercolors showing up here-they are simply amazing to do quick coloring and paired with felt-tips and crayons they are unbeatable :D

Necklace with pendant

Hi there! I got inspired to this outfit at a concert I was at recently (a local band-nothing special :D). I loved the way a girl standing near me had styled her necklace so I decided to pick that up in one of my outfit.
The simple tanktop was spiced up with the necklace, which has a large round pendant on it. Along with that is a purple skit with a broad black waistband.-And of course the brown, laced leather boots to finish it off.

Ballroom dress

Hey! Well, here come's the first of the promised ballroom dresses.
It is a purple neckholder, with the bust being held together with a purple stone and it goes down right tol the floor.
Combined with the clutch and a simple hair updo it is the perfect outfit for a ball.

Ballerina Portrait

Hi! So today I have for you something which I drew with the help of an awesome book my awesome friends gave to me for my birthday (thank you-it is really amazing!).
Using all kinds of techniques, Noaki Watanabe helps you work on your illustration methods and find your own style.
I drew this face with the help of her step-by-step guide for proportions and I think it turned pretty well.
Next time-I'll try giving the face a different expression...any ideas?

Rose

Hi! I promised yesterday that there will be some dresses on here in the next few days and I PROMISE they will-but first I really wanted to share this with all of you. I just finished it today after working on it the last few days.
The background behind it was basically that I said I suck at working with water colors-so I have to practise. So I chose my imagine and started working.
First I sketched the outline with a pencil. To help me with the proportions I drew a grid on both my drawing paper and the photo I was copying from (a very useful technique I learned from my amazing art teacher). Then I started coloring with the watercolors. Probably the most important thing I learned is that it is all about the amount of water you take. If there is not enough on the paper, the colors won't blend and you'll have lots of sharp edges. If you have to much everything will start getting blury and the colors will go all over the place.
And as with everything-it is all a matter of practise :D

Strapless dress with jeans jacket

Hey guys! I'm going to a ball soon so the next few days will be a little about dresses! This first one is still quite casual.
It is strapless, has a few buttons coming down the front and then fans out into a skirt. Colorwise it reminds me very much of candy again, which goes well with the dark blue of the jeans jacket.
Combined with some heels and a fancy hairstyle (but without the jeans jacket) it would be perfect for a summer party.

Lips :D

Hi! I have to hurry up so I make it before 00:00 today :D Welll-I have a pair of lips for you. I have to admit-this is only fashion in a very large sense but I must say, I would actually like to change the topic for this blog a little bit because I've been drawing a lot-but not necessarily fashion.
So here you go :D I hope you like them.
The best tip I ever got for drawing lips is that you have to remember-the opening between the two lips is always the most prominent line. When you draw them you usually tend to forget that and do the outline very dark but it is exactly the opposite way.

Rings and bracelets

Hello! Did you also notice that often I simply leave out hands at the end of the arms? Or that if I draw them, often they are kind of crippled? Well-I decided to work on that problem so I checked out some tutorials on youtube (like this one and this one) and started working. This design, even though it is relatively simple took me a lot longer than the others so I hope you like it!
There are a fair amount of rings on this hand (which-if I had more rings which sadly I don't-I would love to try), in all kinds of different style and colors.
To go with it I also added a few bracelets at the bottom.
xoxo Alex
PS:A dear reader reminded me that I still had to give you the answer from the 7th of September. Well-the movie I was inspired by to draw the coat was Shall we dance with Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere. Good movie by the way!

Candy colored shirt

Hello! Today's (well actually tonight's) is something I've always wanted to try but never really managed to get it right.
It is a candy colored tank top (which would look awesome with a long necklace with some kind of pendant by the way) and some leather pants. To top it off there are some pink (!) leather laced boots to match the color of the top and some bracelets.
Feel free to comment and to share

Black Hoodie

Hi! Today's design reminds me a little bit of one of the outfits my friends like to wear.
It is an oversized hoodie, with a pink tanktop, some short jeans and (as always) laced leather boots. The outfit was finished with a long pink necklace with a peace-sign pendant.
I hope you like it!

Curly Hair Portrait

Hello! Well, there is not much to say to this one-it is a portrait again.
I hope you like it :D
By the way-I'm so sorry my designs come so late these last few days but I've had a lot going on lately...

Dancing Shoe

Hi! Here comes the next shoe for you! I struggled for a long time to draw any kind of high heeled shoe because they look "deformed" so quickly but I think this one turned out quite well.
It is mainly black with some red dots and a flower at the front.
I hope you like it :D
xoxo Alex
PS: yes the toe is oversized-don't ask me why ;)

Fake fur coat

Hi! As with lots of designs I got inspired to this one by a movie (lets see if you can guess!). The wearer is a young woman who is unhappy because she has lost the passion she had, when she was doing what she loved.
The coat has a broad fake fur collar, is gathered on the waistline and goes out again until just over the knees. Due to the fur at the wrist and the bottom, it gives the wearer a glamorous, diva-like air-(which I would personally love to try to destroy with a rocker-style outfit to go with it-that's an idea for another post...:D)
Have fun trying to guess the movie and have a nice day XD

Short Jeans with Tights

Hi! You see this kind of outfit everywhere at the moment with the colder weather creeping in and everyone not wanting to give up their shorts. Well the solution is tights under the shorts!
Here the classic example with some short jeans, grey tights, laced brown leather boots and a simple white top.
By the way-yes I did notive that the neck is kind of very far on the left-please forgive me for that :D

Red maxi Skirt

Hello everyone! Today I have for you a very different type of thing, than the ones from yesterday and the days before that. I was inspired to this kind of skirt when I was leafing through a book about India and they were wearing wonderfully long and wide robes (they weren't exactly saris but quite similar).
The skirt is very long and bright red. At the bottom it has a little bit of a pattern which is only indicated slightly in the picture.
It would be great as the bottom piece of your hippie outfit or with a plain black top.

Skull Skirt

Hey guys! Yesterday I promised that I would show you a better type of skirt to use with rockerstyle outfits so here you go!
Believe it or not princessy elements, like this wide, pink skirt with a petticoat are very popular in this scene. Of course you definetely shouldn't overdo it and never have more than one element in your outfit but they add contrast in to the look which makes the whole outfit interesting!
So as I said, this skirt is wide and princessy butto make sure it is not misunderstood there is a (rather cute) skull on the side. It was combined with a simple black tanktop, laced leather boots and a small black leather bag.
I hope you like it!

Rocker style pencil skirt

Hi! I developed the design I have for you today when a friend asked me how I thought you could style a pencil skirt. When I said that apart from the usual, businesslike look you could use it in a rockerstyle outfit she didn't believe me so here's the proof :D
The simple black pencil skirt is combined with a white Linkin Park tanktop, a brown shoulder bag and some laced leather boots (gotta love them..:D) with a round tip.
The outfit is finished off with some rough bracelets and a bandana, with loose hair framing the face.
So what do you think? Point proven?
xoxo Alex
PS: yes I do admit-the pencil skirt is not the best skirt to use for this kind of outfit-check out tomorow's post to see what I mean :D

Bunny Rabbit shirt

Hey everyone! Today's design is a very simple outfit-just a shirt and some black trousers but due to the bow tie it has lots of effect.
The shirt is a simply top with a bunny head on the front. The black trousers sit low on the waist and end in some laced leather boots. On the left she has a simple black bag.
I hope you like the outfit!
By the way-some of you wrote me that leaving comments on the posts is very complicated...Well it is complicated no more so feel free to write any ideas, possible sources for inspiration or comments :D can't wait to read them!

Burgundy Blouse with Jeans Vest

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that today's post is so late but I just returned from a trip and haven't had much time in front of the computer yet. I was inspired to today's design while watching "Pretty little liars". I must admit I just watched because I had only ever heard of it and I wanted to know whether it was worth watching.
The base is a burgundy colored blouse and three-quater length black trousers. Over it she is wearing a simply blue jeans vest, a black bow-tie (which I loooove-you'll see some more of them the next few days) and some strapped high-heels.
xoxo Alex
