"Downton Abbey" inspired outfit

Hey everyone!
Hope you'Re all doing good! :D
The next few days are going to be really busy for me cuz I have a friend over from Croatia(yaaaaaay!) and we are going to do some exploring - I apologize in advance if the posts here are going to be a little shorter than usual!
A friend recommended a series to me recently and I started watching the first few episodes-"Downton Abbey" They have beautiful costumes there and well-the next few designs were inspired by it!
I don't really like the way the forehead turned out so I'm definively going to start using colored pencils for the skin color soon :D

Potraviny

Hey people!
I indeed have lots to report to you :D But I will gently spread out all the awesome art-related christmas presents I got (and gave away! :D) through the days :D
But still-no 1 today-aquarelle colors <3
I was at my grandparents house today as every year for christmas and I have to say my grandma is a very big inspiration for me. When she was younger she did lots of amazing creative work, especially web-design and silk art and she really is a very awesome person. Even now you can still see her eyes glow everytime we talk about sewing or crafts or anything creative really...
Well from my grandparents together today I got my first set of watercolors. I mean obviously I had those childrens ones before but for the first time it is the real deal...
so obviously today's piece is in aquarelle colors! <3
It is a little abstract I agree but I decided to live it this way because I think this captures the wonderfully torn down look this potraviny has in real life!(photo below)

Maple Tree

Hello there!
A friend of mine had an idea for a picture the other day :D (I like ideas so keep them coming people!) and well-it was a tree....I already warned her that it would be kind of abstract so uhm-here you go...
I first planned on doing just an ink drawing and I think I will still do that sometime....sometime when I have lots of time for the leaves! :P

Christmas Card Mania!

Ho Ho Ho folks!
Christmas is coming up so I thought it was time for a "Special" :D
I always love this time of year because you can make so many awesome Christmas cards-yes some people bake batches of cookies-I make batches of christmas cards...:P
These are the first 2 batches, one in more blue-ish colors and one more red/pink-ish...
Some pointers on christmas card making:
-as for glue, when you use the liquid one it is easier to apply it with an old brush so it is spread out evenly-this is especially important when you're using very thin paper
-I really do recommend making christmas cards in batches because for example for these 10 cards I used 3 square origami sheets and 2 big Din-A 4 sheets of patterned paper-for the last ones I just used scraps!
-and most importantly of all-SEND THEm! :D Everyone loves opening a beautiful card and be reminded of how much they mean to you!
So all you people out there-be aware-the cards are coming :P

The queen on a motocycle with a lyon

Hey everyone!
I was doing some research on Jean-Michel Basquiat and I was inspired....so I flicked through some magazines and saw this pic of "the queen" on a motorcyle and it seriously needed a makeover...for some reason a lyon developed next to it and the at the top is currently the beginning of my favorite line of my favorite song at the moment... "The piano keys are black and white, but they sound like a million colors in your mind..." (from Katie Melua's "Spider's Web")
Enjoy.....

Mermaid hair

Hey everyone!
so as you know I'm currently kind of experimenting with hair so now with this one I tried the mermaid kind of arrowhead things-(I'm not really sure what to call them....)
Oh and note to everyone including self-don't use watersoluble feltips if you're planning to go over it with watercolor!

Snow City Landscape

Hey peeps-I hope you're doing good!
Isn't it magical when you wake up, you are still tired and had to force yourself to get out of bed and then you pull away the curtain to see a landscape dipped in sugarcane?! I must say-I'm not a fan of the cold but snow can make even the biggest and loudest city seem so calm and peaceful...
So anyway-this picture kind of derived from a very productive english class where I looked out of the window and drew some of the houses-I gave away that piece but then I liked the idea so much that I decided to do a bigger and cleaner version of it...The cool part of the one in class was however that I had liquid whiteout for the snow but I didn't have that at home so I had to use white pastel instead...I think it it still turned out pretty well-so welcome in winterwonderland! :D

Hello there!
After this weeks second pastel picture I now have something a little more multi-materialistic for you XD
It is indeed a bird and it was done with guache colors, watercolor, ink, tusche, pastels aaaaand pencil crayons! It took me a while to figure out how I was going to do it but here is the result! :D

Extra-Ordinary people

Hi there!
It was a few weeks ago that I stumbled upon a french page on facebook which dedicated itself to sharing photographs of extraordinary people. Now this was very handy for me as obviously as someone who likes to draw people you are always looking for possible figures and well-I actually did (the original pic is here).
This is the result ^^
(btw-the RJ at the bottom is just my signature-I usually cut it out for the blog but I felt that if I did cut it with this picture, it would loose some of the athmosphere....

February Stars

Hello guys!
I have an guache and watercolor painting for you...It is kind of unusual for me because I put the figurine in a scene but I thought it would look nice for her to have some background! :D
It was inspired by the song "February Stars" by the Foo Fighters (one of my favorite songs ever...!) and well-I hope you like it!

Roses

YES Yeeeees I know-Roses ain't fashion but they're beautiful so shut up! :D
I found this pic of roses somewhere in some magazine and I like it so much that I needed to draw some!
I wish I would have had brown ink (hint hint for all the santa clauses out there :D) for this because I think the black is so hard in contrast and actually these roses are supposed to be all soft and stuff...
hope you like 'em!

PunkRock Jeans Jacket

Hi everyone!
Some of you were a little put of because of the lack of fashion on this blog recently so I decided that today we are going to make up for that! :D
I got the inspiration for this jacket in school because one of my teachers was wearing one similar to this and I just loved the way it completly transformed her silhouette.. and I REALLY need a long sleeved jeans jacket :D :P
PS: I have no clue why I wrote "Punk Rock" on the back but I felt like it needed something :D

Bratislava Castle

Hey!
Today I'm treading on new artistic lands-architecture! :D I have never done anything like this before but when I watched this video of a guy painting New York I was inspired to do a painting of a city too...now it didn't exactly work out like that because I couldn't think of a city I could paint, so that's why I settled for the landmark of a city very dear to me-the Bratislava Castle...
Yes i know-I'm kind of testing out lots of new things lately but that's what you're supposed to do when you're young though isn't it?! So bear with with me and hopefully enjoy :D

Watercolor experiments-helmet lady

Hey everyone!
I hope you're all doing good-I am even though I'm quite busy at the moment! :D (Aren't we always? :P)
I was experimenting a lot with watercolors lately and uhm....some of the pics turned out aweful but I think this one is quite..interesting and (at least for me) kind of amusing so I decided to share it with you...
I christened (can you say it like that in Englisch?-it kind of sounds funny...) this lady the "helmet lady" because I think the.......structure on her head is a little helmet like (I definetely haven't mastered watercolor hair yet :P-but then again it was supposed to be kind of abstract....)
if you want more of these experiments I still have some in store so just tell me! :D

Navy and red cocktail dress

Hi everyone!
I hope you're doing good :D In between all kinds of physics formulas and definitions I came up with this simple design for a cocktail dess.I'm afraid the figurine ist headless because I tried and tried but it never looked like I wanted it to look so I simply left it out...;)
Simple just with black ink and pastels...

Peaking out of a collage :D

Hi everyone!
I cannot really track-down the source of inspiration for this collage because I think it must have been a lot of different things...For one there was this girl in this movie I watched (I know I'm being super exact here but it was a while ago...) who did awesome collages with newspaper and paint who inspired me to do a little of that...and then I think some of the realism challenges by Mark Crilley on youtube played a part as well...
Anyway-see the result for yourself..I hope you like it!
I don't think it turned out quite the way I wanted it to be but then again usually I don't know what I want it to be like so I guess I can't complain :D
Have a great evening!

Inspirational Collage-Romeo and Julia

Hey guys!
It is Monday and therefore time for the next inspirational collage! I decided to use the moodboard I created at the workshop where I designed around the theme Romeo and Julia.
You can already see quite well here that the main colors are red and beige, and my kind of stylistic inspiration was a mix of the classic design with simple and timeless cuts but also a little bit this cool kind of sense that I think Ryan Gosling in the middle incoperates perfectly...
More Romeos on here are Lenny Kravitz, Orlando Bloom from the add for Boss Orange and the guy from the artist. The eyes from the top right corner belong to Penelope Cruz and there are lots of different pictures of Michelle Williams as Marylin Monroe from "My Week with Marylin"-amazing movie by the way. :D There are two quotes on here, one is "The weapon of a woman? Tears!" and the other is by Pierce Brosnan who said, "I owe one of the best compliments to Meryl (Streep): Suddenly she tore off my shirt in front of the running camera. She had done this "for all women", she said. She is amazing and it was great kissing her. My wife calls this legal cheating" (Note: the kissing part while shooting the movie Mamma Mia :D)
Have an amazing Monday evening!

Another HAt-a floppy one this time...

Hey everyone!
I do seem to be a little hat addicted lately-this is my third one I post here in a row!
I created this picture at another fashion and costume design workshop which I'm doing this weekend (and I'm so glad I got to go because I was sick all week and I didn't know whether I would make it!) and my theme this time is Romeo and Juliet..
When I was searching for pictures for my mood board I stumbled upon a lady in this pose with this kind of awesome hat but sadly she didn't fit into my colorscheme at all so I simply "redid" her in red and beige :D
For materials I used a lot! :D Amongst others pastels, guache colors, tusche pens and watersoluble colored pencils..

Boyish hat with firery hair

Hey!
I promised yesterday I would post another hat on here which is a little more boyish than aristocratic one we had yesterday and well-who would have guessed-why going to sleep I had the perfect idea...I must say it didn't turn out as well as I hoped but I still thought I'd share it with you!

Don't you also love the effect my new (Well relatively new...) charcoal pencil has in the shirt?

The art of aristocratic hatmaking

Hello everyone!
It ocurred to me quite a while ago that I haven't posted that many hats on here, even though I'm virtually addicted (I actually figured out a way to attach them to my school bag so I don't loose them when I can't wear them in school-yes I'm that addicted!) and I always thought that if I did post one it would be a more boyish, sailor kind of hat (<3 <3 <3!!!) but I never actually did. Then I found this pic in the November issue of Vogue and got totally inspired. It is not a boyish looking hat, more like something a member of the British aristocracy could pull off but I promise I'll post a sailor's hat sometime!
Don't you think she kind of has the air of a queen?

Random Watercolor Shapes

Hi there!
In our art class we are doing abstract art at the moment so I thought I would do some extra homework :D Anyway-this is what came out-very abstract but I love the colors!
I guess you could interpret lots of feelings and emotions into this (the theory part of our art class :P) but I'm just gonna leave it at "random water color shapes"
