Anamorphic Drawing-the initial sketch

Yep, still trying :) I've decided to switch to a building and a kind of minimalistic, very cool kind of style :)
Anyways, I still have a little work today so lots of love,

Banner-finished piece

I promised you the finished piece, so here it is.  I'm just going to say now, that you should be prepared for some news at the beginning of April :D
I had it scanned professionally so the quality is, unlike the photos before, awesome. :D

I like especially how the polar bear turned out, he's quite a cutie ;)

Banner

Tomorrow it will be (and have to be XD) finished!
I still have one little ingenius idea that is still missing so we'll see what happens :D
I'm not sure what I should do about the empty space between the ship and the group of people though, maybe I'll add more people,or do you think I should put add more colored strips?

Polar bear & trawler

I was just drawing and drawing today and then at somepoint I noticed-it's already quite late, maybe I should post something! ;)
Here you can see what I did with the collage part :D I need your expertise though-for all the people in this pic, do you think I should do them in ball point pen as well or kind of collage-ish as well? or as blocks in a bright color? I'm really not sure...Let me know what you think! <3

Banner Initial Sketch

So um, I did an initial sketch today. It took 45 minutes.
So I started off with a mind map of what I wanted to get in, then I searched for some reference photos (which was hard) until I had my basic elements and then it took about 20min to work out this setting plan. Yes, I had to manipulate the photo quite a bit so you can see something, the pencil lines are quite faint.
I still can't believe this took so long. I kind of like the way it turned out though :D I wonder what this will look like in big ;)
I haven't figured out what materials I want the elements to be. I kind of want to do a collage, but I'm not sure how I'm going to do that :D
Add caption
I'm not sure whether I want to switch the bear at the bottom and thise people with the sign. I bothers me a little that the bear is right in the middle, but Something has to be in the middle. This is hard :O

600 Posts! :D Trawler

Welll-there you have it. This trawler marks the 600th post on this blog. Can't quite believe it-but here we go! :D
This is actually preparation for a bigger piece I'm doing, but I liked what it looked like on its own so I decided I would kind of finish it :)

Magic Carousel. Finished!

It's done. At least for today. Thank god. This was driving me crazy.
I hope you can see everything even if it is so small!
Now I can sleep ;)

Magic Carousel

Raaaaaah, I wanted this to be finished by today. But I will not ruin it by rushing it, so bear with me. Tomorrow, it should be done.
There you go :D
See you tomorrow! ;)

Magic Carousel

So I decided-I need the ball point pen. That unstructal chaos going on with only the water colors bothers me. Blame it on physics HL.
It's taking a long time and not really improving my attitude towards this picture but I hope it is worth the patience...

Magic Carousel

I have to say this unfinished piece is bothering me a little. I decided I finally have to make some meters today so I began coloring using watercolors. This is a lot faster than the colored pencils I was using before, and more importantly I have them at home!
Now this has got me thinking. Should I go over it in a very detailed manner with ball point pen. Or should I leave it like this, more dreamy and unfinished?

Sleeping Beauty's Tower finished piece

It is done! :D I'm not sure whether I should make the little tower in the middle of the roses even darker or whether I hsould leave it like this, but looking at the time, I'm going to leave it-at least for today.

Sleeping Beauty's Tower-Feather drawing

In art class we were given the task of drawing something natural and a part of a building. I decided to finish it over the holidays and for some reason, it turned into a fairytale thing. It wasn't meant to be like this, but halfway through I realised, this is the setting of Sleeping Beauty!
At the moment I'm not entirely sure if I like it or not. Hopefully that will change soon ;)

Merry Christmas!

If you want to do a study on bare heads, I must say the holy mass at christmas provides a hell of a range ;)
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates and to all those who don't, enjoy a wonderful night!
Lots of love!

Sailboat ensemble

This fairly small & delicate drawing of a twomaster is part of a whole sailboat ensemble that I actually really like. I hope the other two will turn out okay too :D
Ships have turned into some of my favorite things to draw by the way. They are so fun, because you recognize them quite easily, whether you draw every single stupid rope or just the main shapes :D

Indian Cow, the second

At school today I was sitting in class, thinking about what to draw (it helps me concentrate-I promise! :D) and I wanted to try to draw what I drew yesterday, but from memory. Drawing from memory is something really really hard for me because usually I do some research before I draw and find photo references. When you draw from memory, those references are in your head. What is really cool though, is that often, if you draw a specific object from a photo you look at it very closely, think about the proportions, how it all fits together-if you do this conciously, it is much easier to then recreate that afterwards. Basically that means, you should be drawing what you see all the time so that later when you draw something on your own, you have those visual references in your head and the drawing pops out of nowhere. Isn't that such a cool thought? Later when you've studied hundreds of different objects, you have like a database in your head ;)
oh and because my awesome, socially and politically engaged friend, was sitting next to me, I adden the nike sneaker ;)

Sonnet 80

Euphoria is something different, but I'm quite satisfied with this picture. Originally I wanted to display the galeon from quite a lowangled view, to make it seem even more superior to the little "saucy bark" (Thats a quote from shakespeare on here by the way! XD) but drawing a sail boat with all those sails correctly, from a different perspective than the one on your reference photo is freakin' crazy.
Anyway, if you want to read the rather awesome sonnet this picture is supposed to portray, go here.

Sonnet 80

In English class we are doing Shakespeare's sonnets at the moment and our teacher asked us to prepare one for the next lesson. I didn't particularly feel like standing up in front of the class and reading it, so I decided I would simply draw it instead.
It was more at random that I chose this one, I was on a site where all of them were listed, I just choose a number at random and I landed this awesome one. I really like it, maybe because I can identify myself with the I-narrator so well ;)

New Years Ball Poster part 1

Working on two projects simultaniously is complicated :D
These both have to be done until the end of November, so it'll be a lot of drawing for me this month :D
This one's a crop of a soon to be poster-I hope it'll turn out well!
I'm not really happy with the roof and everything yet, but I'll think of something :D And I think, this time some color is definetely needed!
